13-Digit Barcoding

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

EDI, Electronic Data Interchange, is an electronic communication of purchase orders, schedules, invoices, job specifications and other business data between publishers and printers/binderies.

In order to send or receive EDI transactions, a SAN is needed. If a company operates from multiple sites, each individual location is assigned its own SAN. Use of this number increases accuracy, greater efficiency, and allows for fewer misdirected shipments; thereby expediting all business-related communications.

The SAN should be used as the first line of your address in all business correspondence, purchase orders, business checks and when ordering electronically.
